What it is
A group practice, not a waiting list.
Advantage is a team of clinicians, not one therapist. I run it as clinical director and still match clients with clinicians myself. You’re matched with the clinician on the team who fits.
Adult therapy here is practical: what is happening, what you want to change, and what is in the way. Couples work is structured and specific. Kids and teens get a clinician who brings parents in when it helps.
Every Advantage clinician is listed on the team page with their license or registration, and associates with their supervisor.

Use the short pre-screening form to tell us who needs care and what is going on. We reply within 3 days, and a free 15-minute consult is available. We’ll say whether we can help, who you would see, and what insurance looks like. No pressure to book.
A match on purpose
I or the team match you by fit, caseload, and what you asked for, not by whoever has a gap in the schedule.

Insurance & cost
What we take, and what we don’t.
Partnership Medi-Cal visits are covered; commercial costs vary by plan, so the intake inquiry is the fastest way to check yours.

- Kaiser commercial plans only with an outside Carelon referral. Not Kaiser Medi-Cal
- Sutter Health Plan if the member ID starts with M
- Not in network with Cigna, Anthem, Blue Cross, or Blue Shield. With a PPO, Advantage does courtesy billing
$150 self-pay per session
A $60 sliding-scale rate is limited to one spot per clinician each week. The cancellation fee is $50. Medi-Cal members are never charged a cancellation fee, and covered Medi-Cal visits are billed to the plan, with no credit card.
